NEW MARKET – Dorothea M. Douglas, 69, a retired telephone operator from here, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was a member of Pythian Sisters and New Market Methodist Church. She was born on Dec. 6, 1903, at New Market, a daughter of Edwin H. and Mary Fink Douglas. Surviving are a sister, Inez Smith of Crawfordsville; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Olive Douglas of New Market; a niece, Mrs. Russell C. Miller of Rt. 7, and two nephews, James Smith of Crawfordsville and Orville Clifton of New Market. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Powers Funeral Home here with the Rev. Dale Payne and the Rev. L. K. Wickett officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
