Mr. and Mrs. Douglas had spent the evening with him and he had seemed in his usual health and had enjoyed playing with his little grandson, Richard Lee. They had returned home shortly after 8. At 11 the son-in-law, Will Smith called to tell them Mr. Douglas was seriously ill, but he died before Donald was able to get to the home which is on 43, east of New Market. His first wife was Lida Smith who died in 1923. Later he married Mrs. Emma Coons Clouse, who survives together with two sons, Donald and Robert, and one daughter, Mrs. Will Smith. Funeral services were held at the New Market Christian Church on Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. JC Nelson of Indianapolis. Burial in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
