Waynetown Jan 18 - Sherman Donelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Donelson west of town was born two miles west of Hillsboro Aug 24, 1882; died Thursday Jan 13, 1916, 33Y 4M 19D He was stricken two months ago with paralysis which was followed by gangrene and as a last effort to save his life was removed from his home at Indianapolis to the hospital, where he suffered the amputation of the leg just below the hip and after the operation gradually grew worse until death. He united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Hillsboro in 1900 but later moved with his parents to a farm east of Waynetown and placed his membership with the Christian Union Church. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Indianapolis. He was married to Miss Maude Bratton of Welsey June 12, 1907 who survives. Besides the wife and parents he leaves two brothers, CC Donelson of Wingate and Clifford Donelson. A funeral service was held at his home in Indianapolis, Friday evening and Saturday on the morning train the body was brought to the home of his parents where funeral services were conducted Sunday morning at 10:30 in charge of Rev. McMullen, pastor of the Christian Union Church. Burial was made at Wesley.
