STOCKWELL - Mabel Scanlon Dicks, 81, formerly of Lafayette, died at 12:25 a.m. today in Clinton County Hospital at Frankfort where she had been a patient 10 days. Mrs. Dicks had lived in Wesley Manor Methodist Home at Frankfort since 1968. She was a member of Lafayette Trinity Methodist Church and OES Hope Chapter 5 at Lafayette. She was a life resident of the Montgomery-Tippecanoe County area. She was born at Colfax, a daughter of Joseph and Sena Conrad Scanlon. She married Bodley K. Dicks on Jan. 19, 1914 at Lafayette. Surviving are a son, Harold S. Dicks of Rt. 1, Linden; a daughter, Mrs. Merrill (Margaret) MacDougall of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Union Cemetery south of Clarks Hill. Memorial services will be held in Wesley Manor Methodist Home at 4 p.m. Saturday. Friends may call at Dickerson Funeral Home here after 6 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made by friends and relatives to their favorite charity. - jlr
