OPAL SNYDER DICKERSON

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal 4 November 1918

Mrs. George Dickerson died at the home of her father-in-law at the corner of Walnut & Market Streets yesterday morning terminating a short illne ss of 8 days originating with influenza and developing into pneumonia.  Mrs. Dickerson was born west of this city the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snyder December 1888.  She has lived in this county all her life, the majority of which has been in this city. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Church. She married George Dickerson June 6, 1904 who is now rural route carrier on route 8 of this city. She is survived by her husband, her father and 7 children: Earl, Philip, Edward, Ralph, Paul and Mary Virginia, an infant in its father's arms; (7 but I only saw 6 named unless Mary and Virginia are two different daughters but there is no comma between them); also by three sisters, Mrs. Samuel Surface, Mrs. Elva Edwards, both of th is city and Mrs. Edna Stroup, LaGrange, Indiana.  The funeral arrangem nt will not be completed until word has been received from Mr. Dickerson 's two brothers, who are now in the service.  - typed by kbz

* Note thanks so much to Martha Harms, who figured out the 7th child (and, yes there is only one daughter, Mary Virginia) - the other child is Karl (Carl) - nicknamed Knobby who was quite a basketball star at Crawfordsville HS. - THANK YOU THANK YOU, Martha
