Alonzo DeVoss, 76,. died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dewey Ewbank north of HIlllsboro Monday morning about 2:30 o'clock. Death was due to complications from which he had been suffering for several months. Mr. DeVoss had been residing in Veedersburg but went to the home of Mrs. Ewbank last July where he has since resided. The deceased was born Dec 3, 1858 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen DeVoss. He was married to Miss Anna Bever who preceded him in death in 1922. The survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Nina B. Davis of Paris, Ill, Mrs. Bertha McKie of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Mary Ewbank, HIllsboro; and one son, Manley DeVoss of Danville, Ill and one brother, Newt DeVoss of Wingate. The funeral service was held from the Ewbank home Wed morning at 10:30 with the Rev. Charles Howard of Sterling in charge of the service.
