Funeral services in memory of the late Mrs. Allie Evans DeVore will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock from the home of her mother, Mrs. Louisa J. Evans on South Grant Avenue. Burial will be made in Oak Hill. Rev. Salem B. Towne of Greencastle will conduct brief services. Mrs. DeVore was born in Putnam County Feb 23, 1863 and was 48 years 4 months 14 days old at the time of her death Friday July 7. She was the daughter of Daniel and Louisa J. Allen Evans of Kentucky. She was united in marriage in 1885 to: Dr. Henry V. DeVore of Greencastle and he preceded her in death in 1891.  She is survived by her mother, a brother, Frank C. Evans, and one son, Lawrence DeVore. – kbz

Funeral services in memory of the late Allie Evans DeVore were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home of the deceased’s mother Mrs. Louisa Evans on South grant Avenue. The love and respect in which Mrs. DeVore was held was evidenced by the large attendance and the profusion of beautiful floral tributes. Rev. Salem B. Towne of Greencastle conducted brief services and burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery.  The pall-bearers were Humphrey Ristine, Charles N. Williams, Walter H. Linn, Dumont Kennedy, George Welty, Florence Evans, Mary Welty, Mrs. Schuyler Kennedy, Mrs. Dumont Kennedy, Ada Harding and Harriet Harding.
