Neal (Red) Devitt, 47, painter in this community for many years, died suddenly Wednesday n ight at Culver Hospital. Devitt had been a patient at the hospital for just a few hours. Devitt was born April 10, 1915, son of James E. and Hallie Eads Devitt in Crawfordsville. He was married in 1938 to Ilene Louise Hampton. Devitt was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Survivors include the mother; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Weaver of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Chester Pulley of Van Buren; a brother, Paul Devitt of Crawfordsville and several nieces and nephews. A daughter preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Rev. Henry F. Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rosary services will be at 8 p.m. Friday. - kbz
