Mrs. Hallie M. Devitt, 82, died at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday in the Rest Haven Nursing Home after an illness of several months. She had made her home with a daughter at 615 S. Washington St. Born Sept. 21, 1881 in Marion County, Indiana, she was a daughter of James and Nancy Proctor Eads. She married James E. Devitt in 1904. He died in 1956. Mrs. Devitt was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Parsons Weaver of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Chester Pulley of Marion; a son, William Paul Devitt of Crawfordsville, and 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded their mother in death. Funeral services are announced for 9 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating and burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home after noon Thursday. Rosary services will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday. - kbz
