Mrs. Albert Dettbenner died at her home north of Sugar Grove at 1:50 o'clock Friday afternoon, October 25. Her death came as the result of a complication of diseases which had impaired her health for several years, and yet her death came unexpectedly. Mrs. Dettbenner was a very fine lady, of sterling character, and so lived that her good deeds will long survive the life that has gone out. The husband who survives is also an invalid and the taking away of his life’s companion affected him greatly. Mrs. Augusta Dettbenner, wife of Albert Dettbenner, was born in Prussia, Germany; she died at the age of 74 years. The family came to this country 40 year* ago and settled in the Sugar Grove neighborhood where they have ever since made their home, living in their present home on the farm for the past 30 years. Mrs. Dettbenner is survived by the invalid husband, two daughters, Miss Edith Dettbenner, who lives at home, and Mrs. Ira Wilson. She leaves three sisters — Mrs. Minna Wangerin and Mrs. Lena Wussow of Prussia, Germany, and Mrs. William Greenburg of Shawnee Mound. Mrs. Dettbeaner was a member of the Sugar Grove. Methodist church and was a woman of deep religious connections. She was domestic in her tastes, and nil of her interest and affection was centered in her home and family. She was hospitable and charitable and was a kind and sympathetic neighbor. She had a cheerful disposition and was happiest when she was doing for others. She had a wide acquaintance and enjoyed the love and respect of all who knew her. The funeral was held from the Sugar Grove church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. 0. Riley, assisted by Rev. H. D. Dick, the pastor. The interment was made in the Sugar Grove cemetery. - kbz
