Detchon - Irwin

Crawfordsville, Ind May 29 - Dr. Irwin A. Detchon, age 75, who died last evening at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis was a lifelong resident of Crawfordsville. He had been ill for several months. He spent the winter in Florida but later went to John Hopkins Hospital for observation. He recently went to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arch H. Olds, Indianapolis. Dr. Detchon's father, Dr. ELliott Detchon was a pioneer physician of Crawfordsville. For many years, he was engaged with his father in the manufacture of medicine here. Dr. Detchon was graduated in 1878 from Wabash College, being a Delta Tau Delta. He was active in the city's business interests, having been a stockholder in many industries. The widow and two children, Mrs. Olds and Lee Detchon, Miami, Fla survive. Three sisters and one brother also survive, Mrs. William M. White, Washington, DC, Mrs. Harriet McIntyre, Los Angeles, Cal; Mrs. FB Gonzales, Los Angeles and Seymour Detchon, Chicago. - kz
