Veedersburg, April l3 -- Word was received here this week of the death of Mrs. Harriett Stockdale Demotte, 77, who died Sat. morning at the Methodist Hospital after being in failing health for some time. Mrs. Demotte was well known in this vicinity and spent her youth in the Scott's Prairie neighborhood and was a member of the Scott's Prairie church. She was the daughter of James F. and Emily Groves Stockdale and for the last several years has made her home near Franklin, Indiana. She is survived by her husband, Frank, and one brother, Mahlon Stockdale of Marshall; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Indianapolis and Mrs. Sara Ford of Louisville, Ky. Several nephews and nieces in the Veedersburg and Waynetown vicinities also survive. Funeral services were held Monday at Needham, Indiana at the Christian church with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery nearby. Those attended the funeral from here were Guy Stockdale and daughter, Verna Marie; Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Stockdale of Waynetown; Mr. Arthur Stockdale of Danville, ILL; Mr. & Mrs. Paul Stockdale and daughter Lois; Mr. & Mrs. Charles Stockdale and daughter, Mrs. Pul (sic) Willis; Mrs. William Coats; Mrs. Rex Stockdale of Veedersburg and Mrs. John Thomas of Kingman. - kbz
