WALTER WILLIAM DEMORET

Walter William Demoret, 72, of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at his home. He was born Oct. 17, 1898 south of Crawfordsville, a son of Samuel and Laura Demoret. He was married Dec. 17, 1919 to Opal Sayler, who preceded him in death in 1946. He was married to Helen Henthorn on Jan. 21, 1948. She survives. Mr. Demoret was a farmer most of his life, retiring in 1963. He attended New Market schools and was a member of the New Market Baptist Church and New Market Farm Bureau. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hobart Mennen of Crawfordsville and Mrs. John Warren of Linden; a step-daughter, Mrs. Morris Smith, in Germany; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Servies and Mrs. Pearl Bayless, both of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Howard Lee of Indianapolis; two brothers, Guy of Orlando, Fla. and Orville of Crawfordsville, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home at Crawfordsville, with Rev. Esmond Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
