New Market, Nov 26 – James F. Demoret, aged 74 years died suddenly at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Clyde Kesler, east of New Market at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Demoret was walking about the Kesler farm when he was stricken with heart trouble. He passed away a few minutes later. The dead man was born Aug 11, 1857 near Whitesville in Montgomery County, the son of Bartholomew and Mary A. Demoret. He was married Nov 27, 1879 to Clara A. Saylor who preceded him in death four years. With the exception of 15 years in which he lived in Kansas, he spent all of his life near New Market. He was affiliated with the local Methodist Church. The survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Servies of New Market; Mrs. William Gott of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Byron Busenbark of New Market and Mrs. Otis Hall of Springfield, Mass; one son, Roy Demoret of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Stephen Allen of Geneva, Ind; one brother, Samuel Demoret of near Crawfordsville; 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild and three half brothers and two half sisters, all residing in Kansas. Services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the New Market Methodist Church with the Rev. Kiser of Waveland officiating. Burial will be at the Indian Creek cemetery near Brown’s Valley. – kbz

New Market, Nov 27 – Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2 at the Methodist Church for James F. DEMORET, whose death occurred Wed afternoon at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Clyde Kessler, east of town. Rev. V. Kiser, pastor of the local Methodist church officiated reading from the scriptures the 23rd Psalm, the 139th Psalm and a portion of the 15th Chapter of First Corinthians basing his remarks on the 29th verses of the 10th Chapter of St. Matthew. William A. Bowers, JW VanCleave, Watler Pinkley and Albert J. Armantrout composed the male quartette which sang Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and in the Garden. Pall Bearers were nephews of the deceased, Orville, Willie, and Everett Demoret, Cline, Paul and Walter Saylor. Those who bore the floral offerings were Wilma, Beulah, Bonnie Busenbark; Edith Jeanette Demoret, Ruby and Mary Servies, grand daughters of the deceased and Evelyn Everson and Miriam Everson. A large concourse of friends and relatives attended the service and burial. Interment was made at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. - kbz
