Alamo, April 18 -- Martin DEETS of this place dropped dead of heart disease while he was hauling wood from the grove of LB Etter about a mile sw of this place. Deets had been in poor health for the last several months but he ate a hearty dinner yesterday before going to the grove. The load had been placed on the wagon and Deets was leading his horse toward the gate when he suddenly collapsed. Aaron Walters who was with him ran to his assistance but death must have come instantly. Deets was about 64 and was born in Alamo. He has spent his entire life in this county and is well known both here and in New Market where he has lived. He is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Sadie Wineland of Montmorenci Indiana, Mrs. Libbie Sanders of Frog Temple, Mrs. Fannie Goble with whom Deets was living. The funeral will be from the Methodist Church here Thursday morning at 10. -- kbz
