Bowers, Nov 8 -- Louise P. Deck, 85 years of age, died at her home near this place at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Death was due to a complication of diseases due to advanced age. She had been a resident of this vicinity for more than 70 years. She is survived by two children, Melissa Hitchson and George Deck and a number of grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the St. James Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock Sun afternoon with Rev. Allen of Colburn in charge. Interment will be at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery.

Samuel m. Elizabeth Needham 8-11-1837 Bk 1 pg. 199 Montgomery county Marriage Records and married Louisa Brown 6-29-1855 Bk 4 p 333 by John P. Livengood.

On their marriage application, "Samuel Deck and Louisa Brown" I, Barnhart Brown do soleumnly swear that I am personally acquainted with the parties above named and that I have reason to believe, and verily do believe, that they are of lawful age to marry, the latter without the consent of the former's parents or guardian; namely; said Samuel Deck is of the age of 21 years & upwards and Louisa Brown, my daughter is of the age of 16 years; that I know of no lawful reason why they should not marry, and that said female resides and has resided in Montgomery Co, State of Indiana, for one month immediately previous to the making of this application for license, which application is made this 29th day of June, 1855; and that I (deponent) am also a resident of this County of montgomery anda disinterested witness int his behalf and of lawful age. Signed 29 June 1855 by Bernhard Braun.

There was also a consent for her to marry him, stating "Barnhart Brown,' the father.
