Veedersburg, Ind Aug 31 - Allie Dearmond and a group of boys attended the Newton (sic - Newtown) fair yesterday and came home last night on a Big FOur freight train. Just as they reached town Dearmond fell under the train, cutting off one leg and an arm. He died instantly. He was of a good family and an excellent young man.

Grannie Dearman was killed by the train last Monday while stealing a ride. He jumped from the train near Veedersburg and fell back under the cars, his body being badly mangled. He was buried at Oakland graveyard Monday.
