John Lewis Dean of Frankfort, a Crawfordsville native, was found dead early Monday morning at his home. Mr. Dean, 56, is survived by a brother, Leslie Dean, of Crawfordsville. The deceased was employed as a bartender at Frankfort's Moose Lodge. He had also been employed by the Elks Lodge there for over 33 years. A Marine veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theater and was a member of Frankfort's American Legion Post. Mr. Dean was affiliated with the Bethel AME Church at Frankfort. He was born on Jan. 16, 1913. Surviving besides his brother are the widow, Geneva, and a sister, Mrs. Dorrthy Burdette of Lafayette. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Funeral Home at Frankfort, where friends may call. – jlr
