S. Opal Detro, 92, Greencastle, died Wednesday morning in The Asbury Towers Retirement Home, Greencastle.
Mrs. Detro was a homemaker and charter member of Abundant Life Baptist Church at Cloverdale.
She was born March 24, 1911, at Woodstock, Ky., to Thomas and Susie Gastineau Abbott. She married Forest Detro on July 29, 1932. He died May 20, 1984.
Survivors include three sons, Don, Dale and Dan, all of Bainbridge; a sister, Bessie Osborne, Florida; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Several brothers and sisters and two grandchildren are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 703 E. Washington St., Greencastle, with the Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
