Robert William DELP, a former commander of the Crawfordsville Veterans of Foreign Wars organization, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Culver Hospital. Delp, 43, had lived in Crawfordsville all his life, except in service in the armed forces. He was born July 14, 1917 the son of William E. and Emma Edwards Delp. In 1939 he was married to George Hall. He had been seriously ill since Monday. Delp had worked in the dry cleaning business here most of his life. During WW II he served in the Pacific. Besides belonging to the VFW, he was a member of the Eagles. Survivors include 3 daughters: Mrs. Diane Ricklefs of Lafayette and Jackie and Nancy Delp of near Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Cooley of Anderson and Mrs. Thelma Devitt of Marion; a brother, Herbert Delp of Missouri and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bennett Fulp officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home afternoon Friday. - kbz
