Waynetown, June 20.-- Mattie J. Dearing passed away Saturday night at 11 o' clock at the home of her brother, Charles Dearing, near Stone Bluff, following an illness of a year with complications. Miss Dearing spent her entire life in the vicinities of Veedersburg, Hillsboro and Waynetown. She was born near Veedersburg Feb. 16, 1872, the daughter of George and Rhoda Minor Dearing. She was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church.

Surviving are her mother, her step-father, Hiram Webster of Terre Haute; three sisters, Mrs. Forrest McPheeters of Terre Haute; Mrs. Zelma Duncan of Greenfield, Okla., and Mrs. Hattie Stribling of Montezuma and two brothers, Charles Dearing of near Stone Bluff and William Dearing of Lafayette. Funeral services will be held from the Christian Church at this place at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. H. A. Davis of Indianapolis will officiate. Interment will be made at the Waynetown Cemetery.
