Mrs. Pearl Humphreys of Hillsboro received word of the death of her brother, John E. Dazey, 56, a former resident of the Elmdale community who died Thursday morning in the VA Hospital at Tucson, Ariz. The body was returned to the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown on Sunday. Funeral services were held at the Center Christian Church north of Elmdale, Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. John R. Servies in charge. Burial was in Oakland cemetery north of Elmdale. Mr. Dazey was born Aug 24, 1895 near Elmdale, the son of Henry and Lou Ella Watts Dazey. He was married to Beatrice Barnes, who survives. He was a member of Center Christian Church and served in the Coast Guard in World War I. After spending 12 years in Missouri he had resided in Arizona the past eight years. Aside from the widow he is survived by 10 sisters: Mrs. Pearl Humphreys, Hillsboro; Mrs. Murl Fulwider and Mrs. Violet Smith of Wingate; Mrs. Virginia Evans, Satsop, Wash; Mrs. Geneva Wigart, Salem, Ore; Mrs. Helen B. Brady, Pittsboro, Kas; Mrs. Dorothy Stevens, Crawfordsville; Mrs. Frances Seybold, Waveland; Mrs. Nadine Staggs, Judson and Mrs. Doris Kelly Crawfordsville; five brothers, Fred Dazey, Liberal, Mo; Don Dazey, Waynetown; Harold Dazey, Tucson, Ariz; ;Leland and Tom Dazey, Chicago. – kbz
