Waynetown, Ind - Mrs. Essie Dazey, 68, of Waynetown, died at 2:30 a.m. today (Aug 31, 1974) in culver Hospital in Crawfordsville following surgery. Born July 2, 1906, in New Richmond, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Lowery Bunnell. On May 10, 1924 in New Richmond, she was married to Dan Dazey, who survives. She had lived in Waynetown for 30 years. She was a member of the Center Christian Church north of Elmdale. She had attended New Richmond Schools. Other survivors include two sons, Bill of Indianola, Iowa and Max of Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. James (Ann) Rush of Sumerset, Calif., Mrs. Eugene (Carol) Dockins of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Fred (Betty) Long of Waynetown; a half-sister Mrs. Gertrude Pierce of Waynetown; 14 grandchildren, five step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, a half sister, Mrs. Myrtle Raisor and a half-brother, Ora Bunnell. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herbert Wollard officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

WAYNETOWN – Mrs. Essie Dazey, 68, who had lived in the Waynetown community for the past 30 years, died at 2:28 a.m. today in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She had been a patient there 10 weeks. She was a member of Center Christian Church near Elmdale. She was born July 2, 1906, near New Richmond, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Lowery Bunnell. She married Don Dazey of New Richmond on May 10, 1924. She attended New Richmond High School. Surviving besides the husband are two sons, Bill of Indianola, Ia., and Max of Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. James (Ann) Rusk of Somerset, Calif., Mrs. Eugene (Carol) Dockins of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Fred (Betty) Long of Waynetown; a half-sister, Mrs. Gertrude Pierce of Waynetown; 14 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. An infant son, a half-sister and a half-brother are deceased. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Woollard officiating.
