Thorntown -- Ruth Pauline Davis, 60, a native of Montgomery County, died at her home here at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. She owned and operated the Davis Nursing home here for 14 years. A daughter of Marion and Agnes Maguire Clouser, she was born March 11, 1903. She married Barton Davis in 1923 in Crawfordsville. He survives. She was a member of the United Brethren Church at Bowers. Surviving besides the husband are four sons, Richard of Thorntown, Truman of Lafayette, John of Lebanon and Howard, a captain in the U.S. Air Force; three brothers, Maurice of Darlington, Howard of Bolivar, Mo. and Marvin of Colfax; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Trunell of Alexandria, Va., Mary Frances Clouser of Lebanon and Mrs. Martha Jane Nicholson of Crawfordsville, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services are announced for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Russell & Hitch Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Don Hainer will officiate, and burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. - kbz
