Lewis Davis Dies In Terre Haute- Lewis H. Davis, 67, former local resident died at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Terre Haute Monday night. A native of Clay County, he was born April 12, 1896, the son of John and Mary Ann Davis. He spent many years in Crawfordsville, but had lived the last eight years in Terre Haute. He had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Terre Haute. Mr. Davis’ first wife, Etta Burcham, preceded him in death. He later married Ruth Howell, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vivian Bryant, Indianapolis, and Pauline Hagler, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Wilbur Davis, Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Roy J. Davis, Detroit, Mich.; a half-brother, William Dean, Hymera, and a half-sister, Mabel Dean, Lafayette. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursay at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. J. W. Hawkins of Terre Haute officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
