Hiram Andrew Davis, 70, of this city, an employee of the T.H.I. & E. traction company, died suddenly on Thursday morning at 10:40 o'clock, while on duty with a traction repair crew near Dover. His death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Davis was born at Advance on March 26, 1850, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Davis. On October 12, 1871, he was married to Sarah Conrad, who preceded him in death. Mr. Davis lived in Advance until 1890 when he moved to Crawfordsville. He is survived by one son, William O. Davis: three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin, Mrs. Mae McNeely, and Mrs. Bertha Elkins: seven grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Hannah McDaniel, and a brother, William Davis. The body was brought to the Proffitt & Sons funeral home here, Thursday and was later taken to the home of a daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Bertha Elkins, 605 East Tuttle Avenue. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at the Oak Hill cemetery.
