She was united in marriage to Joseph Davis in Waveland Nov 1872. To this union 8 children were born, one dying in infancy and Leonard died in 1920. The family moved to Mecca in 1903 and the husband and father died several years ago. Here the children grew to manhood and womanhood and established homes of their own. The following children are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother: Henry Davis of Jonesboro; Frank of Judyville; Mrs. May Faulds of Universal; Thomas and Zeno of Mecca; and Mrs. Clara Steffy of Clinton. There are 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren remaining of this family. Mrs. Davis was the last surviving member of a family of 6 daughters and 5 sons. Besides rearing and caring for her own children several of her grandchildren were lovingly cared for in her home and grew to manhood under her care and guidance. When she could no longer care for herself, she went to the home of a daughter, and for 8 weeks was lovingly care for in the home of Mrs. Clara Steffy.
