March 19, 1953-Oct. 10, 2014:

Jose Davila, 61, of Crawfordsville died Thursday at Roudebush VA Medical Center. Mr. Davila had been an iron worker. He enjoyed playing musical instruments. He served as in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War as a paramedic. He was born March 19, 1953, at Midland, Texas, to Bonifacio and Ricarda (Baiza) Davila. Survivors include: long-time partner, Karen Stewart of Crawfordsville; children, Consuelo Elliott of Crawfordsville, Leticia Meadows of Crawfordsville and Helen Nave of Danville; brother Raul Baiza, Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Maria Ortiz and Elvita Granada of Fort Worth, Texas, Leonora Martinez of Syracuse, Caroline Bandy of Arlington, Texas and Juanita Ortiz of Crawfordsville; and uncle Sylverio Baiza of Rule, Texas. In addition several grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Louis Davila. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Friends may call noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
