New Richmond - Mrs. Lorene Davies, 65, of Rt 1, New Richmond died Wednesday morning in DeKalb Hospital in Auburn where she was vacationing with her husband. Mrs. Davies owned and operated a beauty shop out of her home in New. Richmond. She was a graduate of Huffer's Beauty College in Lafayette. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lafayette, Lafayette, Indiana and National Associations of Beauty Cosmetologists and Master Beauty Culture. She was born and reared in Tangier, a daughter of John V. and Belle Thomas Millikan. She was a graduate of Tangier High School. She married Chester A. Davies, a retired farmer, Aug 12, 1934. She is also survived by two sons, Robert and Jerry; both of New Richmond, a daughter , Mrs. James (Linda) Cox of New Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. George (Helen) Davies of Brookston, Mrs. James (Marjorie) Brook of Tangier and Mrs. Richard (Elsie) Overly of Lafayette: three brothers, William and John of Tangier and Gene of Kingman; and six grandchildren. Services are at 1 p.m. Friday in Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette, with the Rev. Charles E. Hackett officiating. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
