Crawfordsville - Mrs. Edith M. Davies, 71 Rt 5, a nurse at the Ben Hur Home died suddenly Monday night April 28 while on duty at the home. Born July 1, 1886 at Waynetown, Mrs. Davies was the daughter of Albert T. and Ida May Haas Webster. She married Earl M. Davies Sept 27, 1904 at Marshall. Mr. Davies died in 1953. Mr. and Mrs. Davies began housekeeping in Marshall. They moved to Crawfordsville in 1941. For a year, they operated the Old Mill Service Station on Indiana 43 north of town. Mrs. Davies also had worked as a clerk at the Montgomery Ward store. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Marshall Federated Church. Survivors include a son, Glenn Davies, city; a brother, John Webster of Montrose, Colo and a grandson, Capt. Harold H. Davies, stationed at Hamilton AF Base in California. Mrs. Nellie Snyder is a cousin. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home with burial in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
