Andrew M. Davenport, 72, of 510 W. Market St., died Thursday in Culver Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. Mr. Davenport was a member of the Penticostal Church. Born Dec. 9, 1903, in Wilson County, Tenn., he was a son of William D. and America Garrison Davenport. He was married to Maurice Tramel on Aug. 24, 1922. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Lester M. Hays of Waynetown; four daughters, Mary N. Heineman of Zion, Ill., Mamie L. Bozarth of San Jose, Calif., Virginia M. Miles of Rockville and Marie A. Gillogly of Crawfordsville; a brother, John of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Nellie Neal and Gladys Midgett of Madisonville, Ky.; 25 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Six brothers and sisters are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Burkhart Funeral Home with burial in Waveland Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
