LINDEN — Clara G. Daniel, 70, who along with her first husband operated a tavern here from 1935 to 1945, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. She had been in the hospital a day and in Americana Nursing Home at Lafayette since Nov. 7. She was a member of a United Methodist Church at Orlando, Fla. She was born at Sullivan on May 14, 1904, Mrs. Daniel lived at Linden for 40 years with the exception of 1945 to 1950 when she lived at Lafayette. Before that she resided at Terre Haute. Her first husband was Leo Gosney who died in 1955. She was married next to Wright Adams who also is deceased. She married James F. Daniel on April 14, 1969. He survives. Surviving besides the husband, who lives at Rt. 1, Linden, is a brother, Orville Drake of Terre Haute; two nephews; and a niece. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Helms Funeral Home at Linden with the Rev. Dr. Henry Oakes officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
