Crawfordsville – Joe D. Dain, 77 of Crawfordsville died Dec 14 in Ben Hur Nursing Home where he had been a patient eight months. He had been in ill health three years. Owner and operator of a service station and coal yard, Mr. Dain had also been employed at Freeman’s Clothing Store. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. A native of Colfax, he was first married in 1918 to Jessie Agee who died in 1957. In 1966 he married Kathryn Utterback who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert of Dayton, PA and one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson of Preston, Iowa.
