S.E. Cuppy was called to Shelburn Sunday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Martha Cuppy, who died in Columbia City, Pa. on Thursday. Mrs. Cuppy has been afflicted with heart trouble for several years. For the last few weeks of her life she was unable to lie down and was forced to sleep with her head on a pillow placed on a table in front of her. She leaves three children: Hazlett of Litiz; Will of Columbia City, Pa and Mrs. Anna Smythe. She was the widow of Rev. William Cuppy. The following obituary has been contributed. Mrs. Cuppy was the wife of the late Rev. WT Cuppy, who for 9 years was pastor of the Waveland Baptist church, which they, together helped organize. For six months before the present building was erected, meetings were held in their home. For three years Mrs. Cuppy has suffered greatly, but for the last 5 months she has been in constant agony, which she bore bravely and cheerfully, but with the desire that if it were God's will, the time for her death might be hastened. Funeral services were held at her home in Columbia, at 3 o'clock Fri. afternoon after which the body, accompanied by the two sons, Hazlitt and Will and granddaughter, Marjorie was taken to Shelburn, Ind where services were held in the Baptist Church. The body was then placed beside that of her husband. - kbz
