Fred E. Cunningham formerly of 706 E. College Street died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday at Ben Hur Convalescent Home after a long illness. A native of near Crawfordsville, he was a son of Kelley and Nellie Scott Cunningham and was born Nov 10, 1882. He was married to Sophia Coffinberry who died in 1942. He attended schools in Montgomery County. He and his wife started housekeeping in Linnsburg, later moving to this city. Mr. Cunningham with his father and a brother operated the first dairy here. He worked for 16 years in the dairy and several years for the Elks Lodge. His last employment was at Wabash College. He was a life member of the Eagles Lodge. Surviving are a nephew, Fred Devitt of Crawfordsville, and sevearl cousins, Preceding him in daeth were three sisters, Mayme, in infancy and Mrs. Minnie Devitt and Mrs. Audrey Hartley. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bright-Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. LK Wickett officiating and burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. The Eagles will conduct rites at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
