Cummings - Howard - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Howard S. Cummings 57 years old who during the greater part of his life operated an automobile agency in this city, died Friday morning at his home at 109 N. Grant Avenue. He had been ill several months with a complication of diseases. Born Aug 13, 1885 in Vermilion County Ill Mr. Cummings was the son of Ernest and Minerva Cummings. He was married Oct 2, 1911 to Della Bruner the wife preceding him in death six years ago. Mr. Cummings was a member of the Methodist Church of Indianapolis and the Masonic and Elk Lodges. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Stephen Finan and Mary Jane and Nancy Cummings, all of this city, three brothers, WE and HH Cummings of Indianapolis and Porter Cummings of Alabama, two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Bray of Detroit, Mich and Miss Carrie Cummings of Chicago and a granddaughter, Jane Theresa FInan of this city. Besides the wife, a daughter, Betty Lou preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Hunt & Son home with Rev. EA Arthur officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home as the body will be kept there preceding the rites. - kbz
