Crawfordsville—Ethel Irene Cummings, 79, 402 W. Pike St., Crawfordsville, died at 8:40 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 1989 in Culver Union Hospital.
  She was born Aug. 14, 1909 at Wingate, the daughter of Fred and Susie McCollum Crane. She was married Nov. 24, 1945 at Wingate to Clayton “Red” Cummings, who preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1984.
  She was a graduate of Wingate High School. She was a former employee of Wilson Shirt factory and had also operated the food stand in the Ben Hur Building.
  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ at Wingate and a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
  Surviving are two stepsons, Bill, Darlington, and Ron, Waynetown; two sisters, Claudine Branstetter and Lillian Mitchell, both of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joe, four brothers and three sisters.
  Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hunt and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery North. – thanks to s
