Mrs. Maude R. Cruea, 69, 614 W. Market St, widow of Alvin W. Cruea, died unexpectedly Saturday morning in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient since Thursday. Born June 16, 1889, in Montgomery County near Crawfordsville. Mrs. Cruea was the daughter of William E. and Eva Michaels Stout. She married Mr. Cruea December 31, 1916. The husband was an elevator manager for Crabbs Reynolds Taylor Grain Co for a number of years. He died in 1929. Mrs. Cruea was a member of the Mt. Zion EUB Church and Ladies Aid Society of the church. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Mardell Cruea at home and Mrs. Eleanor Schlotman of Fowler; a sister, Mrs. Jerry Burk of Crawfordsville and three brothers, John and Russell Stout of Crawfordsville and Fred Stout of near Alamo. Besides the husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers. The body was taken to the Bright Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements for the funeral are incomplete.
