Crawfordsville Dec 25 - Mrs. Mary Crane, age 76, widow of Ben Crane, Crawfordsville attorney, died here Friday night. Ill many months, Mrs. Crane had returned to her home after several weeks in Culver Hospital. She was the daughter of Professor John L. Campbell, for more than 50 years a professor in Wabash College who served as sec of the Centennial Exposition at Philadelphia in 1876. A life member of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church she was prominent in church, musical and social activities. Mrs. Crane was a sister of the late Mrs. Albert B. Anderson, wife of the former federal judge who was a law partner of Mr. Crane 25 years prior to his federal appointment. Another sister, now dead was the wife of Albert Baker, an Indianapolis attorney. Mrs. Crane is survived by two daughters, Miss anna Caroline Crane and Mrs. James Paterson of this city; a grandson, Morton Paterson and three nieces, Rosemary Baker, Gertrude Baker of Indianapolis and Mrs. Eleanor Ristine Evans. - kbz
