Mrs. Elizabeth Smith COYNER died at her home at Colfax on Friday and was buried in Fairview Cem Sunday. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Smith and was born on the farm where Lando Cosby lives 81 years ago. She was a cousin of Mrs. AL Courtney. She attended the old Academy. She spent most of her life at Colfax. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cecil Gery of Colfax and a son, Harry Coyner of Indianapolis. Colfax, Aug 15 – Mrs. Elizabeth (Smith) Coyner, 79, widow of the late Ennis Coyner died at the family home last evening at 5:45 o’clock following a short illness. Born at Waveland Aug 27, 1885 (sic – 1855) she was the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Smith. She was a member of the Christian Science Church, and received her education in the Waveland public schools. Surviving are two children, Mrs. Cecil Gery of Colfax and a son, Harry Coyner of Indianapolis. The body was removed to the Coyner Funeral Home; funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon from the funeral home; burial in Plainview cemetery.
