Mrs. Ann Coyle, widow of James Coyle, died at her residence on West Pike Street Wednesday at 10 minutes before 5. She was over 81 years of age and for several months has been in a gradual decline from the ills incident to old age. The funeral will occur Friday afternoon at half past 2 at the residence. The family request that no flowers be sent. The interment will be at Oak Hill. Mrs. Coyle was born in 1822 on the estate of Sir James Pringle, Toward Lee near Galashield, Scotland. As a child she was taken by her parents to Canada and it was in Coberg, Ontario that she was married to Mr. Coyle on May 28, 1841. In 1864 they moved to Michigan and in 1878 they took up their residence in Crawfordsville for the purpose of educating their sons in Wabash College. Nine children survive her. Those well known in Crawfordsville being Miss Elizabeth Coyle and Henry Coyle who have lived with their mother, Dr. Robert Coyle of Denver. Mrs. Margaret Smith of Montpelier, Ohio Rev. Campbell Coyle of Toledo and John Coyle of Danville, Ill. On May 28, 1901 the sixtieth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Coyle was celebrated and all of the surviving 9 children were present. Mrs. Coyle was a faithful member of the Center Presbyterian Church.
