Darlington -- April 6 -- Myrtle Jane Cox, 74, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the Maxwell nursing home in Crawfordsville after an illness of two months. Death came as the result of complications.
Born June 13, 1872 in Garfield, she was the daughter of David and Georgetta Payne Binford. She was married to Byron Cox at Garfield September 20, 1893 and was a member of the Garfield church.
Surviving are two sons, Graydon Cox of Garfield and Adrian Cox of Darlington; two daughters; Mrs. Gladys Weliever of Darlington and Mrs. Mildred Sparks of Indianapolis; four brothers, Clyde and Harry Binford of Garfield, Owen of Robert's Chapel, and Willard of Sheridan; a sister, Mrs. Oscar Hole, of Young's Chapel; 11 grandchildren and six great grand-children.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Congregational Christian church at Darlington with Rev. David Nelson in charge. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetary.
The body will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the services. Friends may call at the Butler, Russell and Hitch funeral home until noon Tuesday. - kbz
