Cowan - Peter G.
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 18 October 1901
Last Friday about ten o’clock Peter G. Cowan was crushed in a gravel pit three miles north of town on the Fullen farm and will probably die. Dr. Hutchings was called and found Mr. Cowan in a very serious condition. The gravel had covered him clear to his shoulders and pinned him against a wagon, causing internal injuries in the lower part of the chest.
Mr. Cowan is a prominent farmer living a few miles north of town. Others were caught in the cave-in also, but not seriously hurt. -s
