David R. Cowan, son of the late William Cowan of Coal Creek Township, died at the residence of John McCoy in Nebraska last week. His disease was consumption. Like his father upright in everything diligent in his life work, fair dealing with neighbors and beloved by his household. He left his family a comforable home, a good farm, and not a dollar of indebtedness. Such men are honors to the race and their places cannot be easily supplied. - kbz
