Crawfordsville June 21 – Mrs. Bertha May Courtney, 77, wife of Joseph A. Courtney, was killed yesterday afternoon in a fall downstairs in their home, 604 Illinois street. Her body was discovered yesterday evening by her husband after his return home. Dr. Fred Blix, Montgomery County coroner, said she apparently stumbled and fell backwards, striking her head on the concrete floor as she was ascending the stairs with garments she had been ironing in the basement. Her skull was fractured. Survivors besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Harley Conrad, Crawfordsville R5 and three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Linn and Mrs. Lena Galey, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson, Lafayette. - kbz
