On Sunday afternoon at Indianapolis occurred the death of Mrs. William Courtney, formerly Miss Annie Shepherd of this city, daughter to Mr. and Mrs. John Shepherd. She was a bride of less than two years and was an exceedingly amiable young woman. Her death was preceded only a few days by an infant child and the cause of her death was blood poisoning. The body was brought here on Monday and taken to the home of the parents on South Elm Street. The funeral was from the Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. Tharp, assisted by S.H. Creighton, former pastor of the church. The death was a very sad one and the stricken family are sympathized with by a large circle of friends in this sad hour. - kbz
