Special to Journal. Darlington, May 31. - Joseph M. Corns, a prominent resident of this place, died at 7:30 o'clock last night at his home here of a hardening of the arteries. Funeral services will be held Sunday from the M. E. church, of which Mr. Corns was a member. The services will be in charge of the Rev. Mr. Rippetoe. Burial will be in the I. O. O. F cemetery. Mr. Corns was born April 4, 1843, in Sugar Creek township, north of Bowers. He was a member of the Eleventh Indiana cavalry. Besides a widow, Mr. Corns is survived by six children, Mrs. Will Hunt of Monon, Mrs. Newton Campbell and Ivan Corns of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Earl W. Cox of Darlington and the Misses Clara and Pearl Corns at home. Two other children died in infancy. - kbz
