Benjamin W. Cornell, 84, died Thursday morning in his home at Browns Valley after a short illness. He was born March 18, 1885, a son of Frank and Mariah Bowen Cornell. He lived most of his life in the Stockwell and Browns Valley areas and was a retired blacksmith and farmer. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Cornell and Mrs. Martha Reagan of Thorntown; a son Benjamin Jr. of Browns Valley; three brothers, Charles of Oregon; William of Ohio and Ora of Spencer; a sister, Mrs. Maude Osborn of Indianapolis; and 9 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at McGaughey and Sons Funeral Home in Russellville, with Rev. Ed Dooley officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Saturday. - kbz
