Mrs. Opal Corn, wife of Deputy Surveyor Ernest Corn died at Culver Hospital, Thursday after being ill for six weeks with typhoid fever. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Corn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles McCullough in Engelwood, Saturday morning by Rev. EE Moorman of Danville. Interment at Oak Hill.
Mrs. Corn was born near Waveland 23 years ago and lived here until her father was elected sheriff. She attended the schools and became a member of the Christian Church. After graduating the Crawfordsville HS she taught in Union Twp. She had been married but two months. Her many friends here grieve at her untimely death. Those from here attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Nelson M. Deere, Mrs. A.L. Courtney, Mrs. Irvin Deere, William B. Jarvis, Otha Jarvis, Mrs. Cyrilla Mitchell, Mrs. George McMullen, Mrs. ELiza Sturgeon, Misses Nannie Bloomfield, Aria Spencer, Laura Spencer, Mary Hodgkin and Mrs. Ray Sharp. - kbz
