Waynetown - US Army Col (Ret) William Clyde Cord, 68, a brother of Claude C. Cord of Waynetown died at 8:35 a.m. Saturday in his home at Pierce, Arizona. He was a member of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge and American Legion. He was born near Mellott on April 14, 1907, a son of Oliver and Mattie Courtney Cord. He was married to Kathleen Quillin on Dec 17, 1938. She survives. Other survivors are a son, Thomas J. of Centerville, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Anne Novack of Carbondale, Colo and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. Gordon Glink officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery., Friends may call at the funeral home after 3p.m Thursday. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday., Military graveside rites will be conducted. The family requests memorials be made in the form of donations to the Cancer Fund. - kbz

Waynetown - Clyde Cord, 68, a retired Army colonel, died in his home at Pierce, Arizona at 8:25 a.m. Saturday after a lingering illness. Born at Mellott, Mr. Cord was educated at Waynetown. He had lived in Arizona since 1970 moving there from Ohio. In 1938 he was married to Kathleen Quillen, who survives. He was a member of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge 302 and Waynetown American Legion Post 435. He was a veteran of WWII.  

Surviving with the widow are a son, Thomas J. Cord of Centerville, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Anne Novack of Carbondale, Colo and a brother, Claude Cord of Waynetown.
